Squamous Cell Cancer (SCC) of the Lip

SCC of the lip is best treated with surgical excision (removal).  The aim of surgery is adequate clearance of tumour and restoration of function and appearance,  achieved by accurate lining up of the skin/vermillion margins and re-establishing the integrity of the oral sphinctre (orbicularis oris muscle).
